Description	:	Born in Dockbergen, Germany. Son of Frederick & Wilhelmina Tegtmeier. Married Sep. 11, 1901 at DuBois, NE to Emelie Eloise Sostman. Obit in the Seneca, KS paper May 28, 1959-2. TEGTMEIER Henry Tegtmeier and sister, Mrs. Minnie Rinne, came to America in the fall of 1891 to hoin a brother, Fred, who came a few years previous. They entered the United States at Baltimore, Md. While in voyage. there was an outbreak of cholera on board ship. All passengers on board were often examined to prevent a serious outbreak of the dreaded disease. TEGTMEIER Henry Tegtmeier and sister, Mrs. Minnie Rinne, came to America in the fall of 1891 to hoin a brother, Fred, who came a few years previous. They entered the United States at Baltimore, Md. Henry first located at Steinauer, working for relative. Fred Rinne, receiving pay of $18 a month for 10 months and working for his board the remaining two months of the year. The fall of 1898 he came to the DuBois vicinity to work for Henry Sostman. In 1901 he married Emilie Sostman, the young daughter of Henry and Charlotte Sostman. They lived their entire married life on the home p;ace, now known as Angus Acres where he lives at the present time with his son, Henry Tegtmeier, Jr. There were also two daughters in the family, Mrs. Lottie Rohlmeier and Mrs. Alta Nemec. Henry Tegtmeier often told of his father-in-law, Henry Sostman, building a two wire fence around a hundred acre pasture, and that the fence cost as much as it did to buy the land.
