The Rev. Michael Murphy conducted the funeral for Mr. Falter, who died May 25 at a Jefferson City hospital with burial in the parish cemetery. Mr. Falter was born Sept. 30, 1932, at Freeburg to Joseph and Anna Bax Falter. He was married Apr. 23, 1966, at Freeburg to the former Darlene Schwartz, who survives at the home. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of the local parish. He had been employed as a press operator for McGraw-Edison Manufacturing Co. from 1955 to 1972 and was employed at ABB Power T & D Co. from 1972 to 1997. Other survivors include two daughters, Lori Bax of Freeburg and Dana Peters of Linn; four brothers, Lawrence Falter of Koeltztown, and Jerome Falter, Leander Falter and Norbert Falter, all of Freeburg; two sisters, Martha Hobbs of St. Louis and Teresa Kloeppel of Taos; and a grandson. -obituary, Unterrified Democrat [Linn, Mo.] (June 2, 1999)
