The deceased leaves to mourn his death his beloved wife, four daughters; mother, father, one brother, Harry of Stratton, Neb., five sisters Frances Lockenour of Cambridge, Neb., Ella Russell of Stratton, Neb., Sarah Softley of Fairmont, Neb., Alice Softley and Miss Mabel of Grafton, Neb., and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Congregational Church in Grafton with Rev. J. J. Pruitt officiating. Interment was in the Sutton cemetery (sic). IN MEMORY So many times your strong right arm Protected those you loved from harm; And now so helplessly you lie? O love of mine, why must you die? Through all the years you seemed to live For those you loved. You tired to give Them everything, and now your task Is done. But why, wed sadly ask? But O, God knows how hearts can ache For one whose going seems to take The very sunshine from the sky. O, dearest one, why must you die? These flowers are such futile things To speak the love that prays for wings To bear aloft our tender prayer That God is glad you've come up there. And O, your very presence still Seems to remain, and ever will. For your devotion lingers yet And we who love you can't forget.
