Death was caused by heart disease. Mr. Lammers is survived by his widow; three sons, Frank H. of Fordyce, John H. of Coleridge, and Anton J. of Hartington, and six daughters, Mrs. Casper Koenig of Hartington, Mrs. Arthur Schulte of Fordyce, Mrs. Anna Wieseler of St. Helena, Mary Lammers of West Point, and Cecilia and Clara Lammers at home. Funeral services for Mr. Lammers were held at St. John's Catholic church here Monday morning. Rev. Peter Vanderlaan, Msgr. B. H. Lordemann of Hartington and Msgr. Joseph Bosheck of West Point officiated at the solemn requiem mass. Six of Mr. Lammers grandsons served as pallbearers. Burial was in St. John's cemetery. Mr. Lammers was born near Davenport, Ia., October 5, 1858, and came to Cedar county with his parents by wagon and ox team in July 1861. Since then he had spent his entire life in Cedar county, following the occupation of farming. He was at one time an officer in the old First National bank of Hartington. *** St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1909-2009, Fordyce, Nebraska, P101 HENRY AND KATHRYN (BECKER) LAMMERS Henry Lammers, the son of Susanna Grigamire and Johann W. Lammers, was born in 1858 and married Kathryn Becker in March 1884. An orphan, John, also Johann Lammers, was born July 5, 1830 in Steinbild, Hannover, Germany and came to America when he was 19 in an old windjammer traveling to New Orleans, up the Mississippi River to Ohio. He married Susanna between 1850 and 1855 in Cincinnati, Ohio, moved to Iowa by oxen and then to Ponca, Nebraska and finally to St. Helena, Nebraska. John Lammers died June 9, 1897 with an estate of 3000 acres. The Henry Lammers Homestead was located five miles south of Fordyce and was inherited from his father, Johann. Their nine children attended the Lammers Ranch School. They were charter members of St. John the Baptist Church. Children: FRANK HENRY born July 25, 1883, single, farmed the Homestead. He died mowing hay on July 1, 1963. KATHRYN born July 28, 1886 married Casper Koenig on May 7, 1912 and lived on a farm south of Hartington, Nebraska. She died May 18, 1975. They had four children: Adrian, Germaine, Owen and Kathleen. MARY born October 5, 1888, single, was housekeeper for Msgr. Bosheck in West Point, Nebraska from 1932 to 1970 and then returned to Fordyce. She died January 22, 1976. JOHN born October 6, 1890 married Ella Wiebelhaus on February 2, 1920, and farmed south of Hartington. They had three children: Jerome, JoAnn and RoseMary. CECELIA born October 5, 1892, was single and continued to live and farm on the Homestead. ANTON born August 16, 1895, married Cecelia Sudbeck on February 5, 1924. Anton died December 14, 1981. Living on a farm adjacent to the Homestead, they had seven children: Catherine, Loraline and Linus (twins), John, Richard, Beata and Roman. CLARA, a twin, born February 10, 1898, was single and continued to live and farm on the Homestead. Clara died March 16, 1986. ANNA, a twin, born February 10, 1898 married Henry Wieseler on September 19, 1922 and lived on a farm southeast of St. Helena. They had six children: Romaine, Cletus, Charlotte, Wilfred, Geraldine and Jeanette. MARTHA born October 20, 1899, married Arthur Schulte on January 25, 1932 and farmed near Fordyce.
