Description	:	Stratford Courier February 18, 1937 Henry Luth Funeral services for Henry Luth were conducted Sunday afternoon in the local Baptist church at 2:00 o'clock, following a brief service in the Miller undertaking parlors at 1:30. The services were in charge of the Rev. A.E. Appelquist who spoke on the conception of death as related to the pagan, modern, atheistic and Christian ideas. Misses Anna Lindblom and Vernice Johnson sang, "Nearer, Still Nearer" and "City Four Square," while the Rev. Mr. Appelquist sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere." Following the services the remains were laid to rest in the South Marion cemetery, the pallbearers being Dr. M.E. Pomeroy, Martin Hall, Fred Fry, Rueben Erickson, Floyd Ferlen and Roy Randall, of Burnside. Henry Luth, son of William and Sophia Luth, was born in Crevitz, Germany, Jan. 4, 1869, and died at his home near Stratford, Feb. 11, 1937, at the age of 68 years, 1 month, 7 days. He came to American in the year 1899 and located at Kimball, S. Dak. On Aug. 2, 1906, he was united in marriage to Grace Holloway, in Chamberlain S. Dak., and this union was blessed with four children, all of whom survive. The family moved to Iowa in 1929 and located at Lehigh for a short time after which they moved to the present farm home, west of Stratford. Deceased leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, two sons and two daughters. They are: Mrs. Edgar Hall and Mrs. Allie Osborn, both of Stratford; Edwin of Stratford, and William of Winterset. There are also seven grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
