Husband of Mary Neville Nelson. ------------------------ Thursday November 01, 1945 Henry Nelson dies of Heart Attack PASSED AWAY EARLY SATURDAY AT HOME IN WAKONDA, FUNERAL AT CATHOLIC CHURCH MONDAY Henry Nelson, 62, died soon after 12 o'clock Friday nite at his home in Wakonda. He had not been ill and it is beleived he suffered a heart attack. The funeral was held Monday morning in the Catholic church of Wakonda with the Rev. Fr. O'Malley officiating. Burial was in the south Catholic cemetery. Pall bearers were Joe Ostrem, O.W. Peterson and Harry Johnson, three nephews, and Pat Logsdon, M.E. Buckley and P.H. Keeley. Henry Nelson was born November 23, 1882, Bethal twonship, Clay county, the son of Amos and Karen Nelson, who came here as homesteaders. He died October 27, 1945 at his home in Wakonda, at the age of 62 years. Mr. Nelson lived all his life in Clay county. He was on the farm in Bethel township until five years ago, when he purchased a home in Wakonda and moved to town. Henry Nelson and Mary Neville were united in marriage September 7, 1929, in Wakonda by the Rev. Anton Kippes. He is survived by his wife, and three sisters, Mrs. Olaf Larson, Mrs. Peter Leikvold and Mrs. Jay Westre, all of Vermillion. His parents, four brothers had preceded him in death. Relatives and friends from out of town here for the funeral included: Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Slowey, Mr. and Mrs. Francis McDonald, and Mrs. Laurence Smith, Irene: Mrs. Hoger Lawenson and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Smith, Viborg. Mr. and Mrs. Tim Buckley, jr., Mr. and Mrs. William Buckley, Mrs. Mary Buckley and son, Jim, Mr. and Mrs. John Nipp, all of LeMars, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Olson and son, Mr. and Mrs. O.W. Peterson, Mrs. Ivan Pierce, Mrs. Morris Marshall, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Leikvold, Mr. and Mrs. Olaf Larson, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ostrem, and Mrs. Carrie Westre of Vermillion. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Westre, Volin; Mrs. W.E. Behm, Council Bluffs; Mr. and Mrs. A.F. Singer and family, Elk Point; and Mr. and Mrs. ???? ??????? , Yankton.
