Henry Oscar Bryson was born in Des Moines County, Iowa, near Burlington, February 3, 1848 and died May 8, 1912, aged 68 years, 3 months, and 5 days. Read More	After an illness of several months with hardening of the arteries of the heart, brother Bryson succumbed to the inevitable on Wednesday, May 8, 1912 at 12:45 o’clock. Henry Oscar Bryson was born in Des Moines County, Iowa, near Burlington, February 3, 1848 and died May 8, 1912, aged 68 years, 3 months, and 5 days. He was married to Sarah Jane Cartwright, February 23, 1871. To this union were born five children. They made their home in Henry County, where they were married, for twenty-three years. They moved to Montgomery County, Iowa, where they lived until his death. The deceased was converted in January 1887 and united with the M. E. Church at Mt. Union and in 1894 united by letter with Holmes Chapel, of Grant charge, and remained a faithful member until his triumphant death. He leaves a wife and four children, one having preceded him to the beautiful home of the Soul. Mrs. Jeannie Allen of Mt. Union, Iowa, Allen M., Henry O., and Ernest C. of Montgomery County, Iowa and three grandchildren, who with the faithful wife mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband and father. Also three brothers and one sister survive. They are M. J. Bryson, Ft. Worth, Texas; A. W. Bryson of Ft. Morgan, Colorado, H. M. Bryson of Waverly, South Dakota; and Mrs. W. H. Arnett of Pontiac, Illinois, and also a number of other relatives of Holmes Chapel and a host of friends will miss him at the church service and in the community. On Friday, May 10, his funeral services was conducted at Holmes Chapel where a large congregation assembled to show the high esteem in which they held the departed and their heartfelt sympathy for the bereaved family. The remains were then laid to rest in the Villisca Cemetery to await the resurrection morning. May the Lord Bless the bereaved family and help them to look forward with happy anticipation when they can join the departed ones in the sweet fields of Eden, where the tree of life is blooming and parting will be no more forever. The services were conducted by the writer, J. N. Hosier, pastor of the M. E. Church, Grant, Iowa.
