Read More	A SCARLET FEVER VICTIM Scarlet fever caused death to claim a victim in the person of Miss Mamie Bryson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Oscar Bryson of near Sciola. Death came at 11 o’clock yesterday morning and the body was brought to Villisca this morning for interment. On account of the contagious disease no public funeral services were held. The deceased was born in Henry County, Iowa August 21, 1884, being at the time of her death, 18 years, 9 months, and 7 days of age. She came to Villisca with her parents ten years ago, and the family has resided in the vicinity of Sciola since that time. Miss Bryson attended high school in Villisca for some time and has been a successful teacher in Montgomery County Schools. She was teaching near Stanton, when she became will with the fever, and that, together with acute Bright’s Disease, caused her untimely death. She was a faithful member of the M. E. Church at Holmes Chapel, had a loving disposition, and was an obedient and dutiful daughter, possessing all the qualities that go to make up a congenial character. Aside from the brief stricken parents, there are three brothers and one sister, also bowed in sorrow, and the whole community in which she lived enters into the deepest sympathy with the bereft relatives. A little brother of the deceased is also afflicted with the disease, but is improving.
