Tozier at Tescott, Kansas. When he was three years of age he came from New Brunswick with his parents to make his home in the United States. At the time of the Civil War he enlisted in Company K of the First Massachusetts Cavalry and was one of four brothers serving their country in this conflict. Read More	Minneapolis Messenger Minneapolis, Kansas August 1, 1929 Page 5 Allen Tozier was born in New Brunswick, January 30, 1842, and departed this life July 18, 1929, at the home of his brother Ernest W. Tozier at Tescott, Kansas. When he was three years of age he came from New Brunswick with his parents to make his home in the United States. At the time of the Civil War he enlisted in Company K of the First Massachusetts Cavalry and was one of four brothers serving their country in this conflict. In 1866 he came west with his parents and settled on the Saline river a few miles west of where the town of Tescott is now located. He passed through all the hardships and trials of life on the border, helping take care of the settlements while his brother Richard and others of the community belonging to the Forsyth Scouts were driving back the Indians in their raids in 1868. He was a lover of all history, a great reader, a true friend, and a good citizen. Mr. Tozier leaves one brother, Ernest W. Tozier, and his [Ernest's]two sons, Bert and Grant; four other nephews, Chester Tozier of Tescott, Dave and Will Tozier of Salina, George Tozier of Kansas City; and one niece, Mrs. Effie Grimes.
