Services were cpmdicted from Holy Name Catholic church, Topeka, Monday morning. Rosary was said at Penwell Gable Funeral Home, Topeka, Sunday evening. Later Services were conducted Tuesday morning from St. Gregory's Chatholic Church, Marysville. A rosary was said at Kinsley Mortuary Monday evening. Pallbearers her at Marysville were Merlyn Schwarz, Wilfred Zech, Robert Ring, Dennis Bruna, Henry Ring, and Paul Ring. Burial was in St. Gregory's cemetery Monday evening. Born December 25, 1922, Ring attended MSH and the University of Kansas. Ring was married April 15, 1948 to the former Carol W. Schwarz of Marysville. He managed the Herkimeer Co-op Elevator until 1949 when he went into farming. Ring later joined the Wilson Laundry Equipment Company in St. Louis, working there until he helped start the first coin-operated laundry in Topeka. He owned and operated sereral coin-operated laundromats in and around Topeka, and also operated a laundry supply service. Ring worked a Zimmerman Liquor Store and the Topeka Shooters Supply, both in Topeka, until his health forced him to retire in 1974. He attended Holy Name Church and participated in the St. Vincent Depaul organization at the church. Ring was president of the Topeka Ostomy Assocation and was a board member of the Shawnee County unit of the American Cancer Society. He belonged to the Capital City Gun Club, Alcoholics Anonymous and the Disabled American Veterans. A veteran of WWII, Ring served in the Armyn the European-African-Mid-east Theater. He received th Purple Heart with one bronze oak leaf cluster, a Bronze Star and the American Defense Service Ribbon. He was preceded in death by two infant sons. Survivors are his wife, Carol, a son, Stanley Joseph, both of Topeka; his father Herbert J. Ring Sr., Marysville; four brothers, Frank Ring, Marysville; Raymond Ring, Frankfort; Aaron Ring, Fort Collins, Co., and Justin Ring, Salina; two sisters, Mrs. Robert Bruna, Hanover, and Mrs. Carol Hershing, Anaheim, CA., and one granddaughter.
