Trinity Choir sang "The Lord is My Shepherd" and "Asleep in Jesus". Burial was in Trinity Lutheran cemetery. Pallbearers were all World War I veterans and included O.H. Martin and Mrs. F.C. Merten. In charge of the military burial were members of A.L. Shirley Post No. 176 of which Mr. Frahm was a member. In the color guard were James Corner, Emil Wagoner, Melvin Meyer and E.J. McBride. Under the command of Melvin Wiest the firing squad was composed of Walter Scheiding, Roy Wilhelms, Thomas Vaughan, Clive Pulver, Raymond Heinrich, Alvin Krueger, Burdette Armstong, Elmer Schulz, Don Schneider, Max Waterbury, Duane Barnason, LaVern Muhleisen and Royal Roskilly. Post Commander Wilbur Krueger presented the flag and Dennis Jones played Taps. Herbert W. Frahm, son of Fred Frahm and Mary nee Siebrass, was born October 2, 1892, at Blue Hill. On November 13 of the same year he was baptized into the Christian faith in Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Hill. On March 24, 1907, he renewed his baptismal vow in the rite of confirmation. On February 2, 1921, he was united in holy wedlock with Miss Bertha Blum. This union the Lord blessed with four children, on daughter, Mary Ann, who died in infancy; and three sons, James, Fred, and Robert. Mr. Frahm established his home on a farm southwest of Blue Hill where he lived with his family until 1945, when, because of failing health he moved with his family to Blue Hill. Since that time he, with Mrs. Frahm, engaged in the restaurant business, and later in the operation of a package drug and sundry store in Blue Hill. About four years ago Mr. Frahm's health took a sharp turn to the worse, and from that time he was almost constantly under medical care submitting to a number of operations. During the last months of his life he spent much time in the veterans; hospital in Grand Island, where he passed away, departing this life last, Sunday, September 28, at 2:15 p.m., reaching the age of 59 years, 11 months, and 26 days. His death is mourned by his wife, Bertha; three sons, James, Fred and Robert; his sister, Alma, Mrs. Herbert Schnase of Wood River, NE; and two brothers, Alferd and Clarence, both of Pauline, NE. As a memorial to the departed, a wreath designated for some item in Trinity Lutheran's new church building is requested. Fred Scheiding stands ready to receive your gifts toward this wreath.
