Of this truth we were reminded when Mary D. Frahm left this vale of tears last Sunday at about 4:45 a.m. to enter her eternal home. Though up in age she had always loved to work and did work diligently at all times. So she took a well deserved rest by visiting the mountains of Colorado, to enjoy the great glory of her Maker. She came back ill and a few days later the Lord had taken her into His eternal rest. Mary Dora Frahm, daughter of Frederick and Johanna Siebrass was born August 23, 1872, in Gasconade County, Missouri. Soon after her birth she was baptized in the name of the Triune God and made a child of God by receiving the forgiveness of sins. Rev. H.E. Michels performed the baptismal ceremony. Some years later her parents came to Nebraska and settled in the neighborhood of Blue Hill. Here she received a Christian education and was confirmed in the Christian faith in 1886 by Rev. C. Schubkegal. The passage from Holy Writ on her confirmation certificate is 1 John 2.17; "And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof; but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever." November 19, 1891, she was joined in holy wedlock with the late Frederick W. Frahm at Blue Hill, Rev. C. Schubkegal officiating. This marital union was blessed with five children, Herbert Frahm of Blue Hill, Alma Schnase of Wood River, Nebraska; Clarence Frahm and Alfred Frahm of Pauline, Nebraska; and Arthur Frahm who departed this life in 1934, followed by his father in the same year. Besides the children mentioned above 19 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, two brothers, Henry Siebrass of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Chas. Siebrass of Blue Hill, and many other friends and relatives mourn her unexpected departure. The departed lived on the farm with her family for 36 years in Webster and Adams counties and moved into Blue Hill in 1927 where she resided until her death. Mrs. Frahm was a member of the Lutheran Church since her birth. At her confirmation she became a communicant member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Faithfully she attended services of the church and frequently partook of the Lord's Supper, to strengthen her faith in the Savior. The day before her death she received the holy sacrament, and was confident that ___ing could separate her from love of Christ. Last Sunday the Lord's day, ______ peacefully _______ asleep in her Redemer______________ Her funeral was this past Wednesday, at 1:30 p.m. from the house of mourning and at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church. Hebr. 4,9 was the text on which her pastor based his words of comfort and hope. "There remaineth therefore a Rest to the People of God." While visiting on a vacation she looked Rest in the Heavenly Mansions. Thanks be to God for His unspeakable mercy in Christ! "Beautiful Savior," and "Abide with Me," were sung by a quartet. Her body rests beside her departed life-mate until the Lord will raise it to eternal bliss and glory. A pilgrim and a stranger, I journey here below; Far distant is my country, The home to which I go.
