Description	:	Herbert William Eisler, 90, of Topeka, went Home to be with the Lord on July 28, 2011 at his home. He was born January 14, 1921 two miles west of Nortonville, the son of Jacob and Lena Moeller Eisler. He attended school in Nortonville. Herbert farmed in the Nortonville area until 1951 before moving to Topeka and joined the Carpenters Union Local No. 1445. As a carpenter, most of the time serving as a Superintendent, he built various churches, schools, buildings and houses around Kansas. He was born January 14, 1921 two miles west of Nortonville, the son of Jacob and Lena Moeller Eisler. He attended school in Nortonville. Herbert farmed in the Nortonville area until 1951 before moving to Topeka and joined the Carpenters Union Local No. 1445. Herbert also taught the carpenter trade to Airmen at Forbes Air Force Base in 1971 and 1972. He came out of retirement to build the addition to Faith Lutheran Church in 1991 and 1992, where he was a member since 1951. He loved hunting and fishing and in his spare time, built various furniture. He loved to help people and his children. Herbert married Noma K. Matthews on December 25, 1943 in Nortonville. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Judith Elaine (Ron) Moss and Marie Kathleen (Dave) Pinick, both of Topeka, four grandchildren, Theron Moss and Julaine Moss Garcia, Brian and Heath O'Campo and five great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church. A graveside committal service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Valley Falls Cemetery. Herbert will lie in state and the family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Monday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Topeka Lutheran School, 701 SW Roosevelt St., Topeka, KS 66606 or to Heartland Hospice Services, 2231 SW Wanamaker Rd., Ste. 202, Topeka, KS 66614.
