Sustains Internal Injuries Which Causes Death A pall of gloom came over the many friends of Herman Hoferer Monday when word reached Creighton relatives that he had been seriously injured and would be unable to live but a short time. While driving an automobile belonging to his brother-in-law, Wm. Dobson, residing near Primrose, Nebr. to town to meet his father, who was enroute to visit them, he attempted to adjust the lights and in so doing it is presumed the car became unmanageable and he was thrown underneath the car, receiving internal injuries. He managed to release himself and shouted for help. He was assisted by neighbors and taken to his sister's home. The accident occurred at about 10:15 p.m. and but a half mile from home. Local doctors and a special surgeon from Omaha were hastily summoned and responded promptly, but were unable to render succor and he died Tuesday night about twelve o'clock. He was conscious until near the end. His brothers, Wm. Jr. of Creighton and John from Verdigre made a night drive to see him before death came. Herman is readily remembered by everyone who knew him. He was always jovial and congenial and a boy, whom everyone liked, being a kindly and considerate character. C.W. Metteer left Wednesday afternoon with the auto hearse and expects to return with the body today and the funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Friday. Herman Hoferer was born in Creighton and would have been twenty-one years of age in October. He is survived by a loving father and mother, six sisters, Mrs. Wm. Dobson of Primrose, Mrs. Dan Hecht of Alliance, Mrs. Clint Neff of Utica, Mrs. Clarence McDaniel of Primrose, Mrs. Fred Hochs of Tripoli, Iowa and Miss Margaret Hoferer of Creighton. Also three brothers, Wm. Hoferer Jr. of Creighton, John Hofereer of Veridgre and Henry Hoferer of Tripoli, Iowa.
