Hoferer, who spent nearly all of his 82 years in Creighton, were conducted Sunday afternoon at Zion Lutheran Church with the Rev. Adolph Lillich officiating. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Raymond Johnson, George Thierolf, Herbert Saloum, W.W. Fickling, Ray Hurley and Carl Grosse. He was a mortician with his father for a time after attending a school of embalming in Omaha. The majority of his lifetime was spent in the grocery business in Creighton. William P. Hoferer, son of William and Babetta Lobel Hoferer, was born at West Point Sept 1, 1873. He was baptized as an infant at West Point and was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Creighton. He was a faithful member at the time of his death. He attended the public school here and later went to Wartburg College, Waverly, Ia. followed by the embalming school at Omaha. On Dec. 1, 1895 he was united in marriage to Ida Buddenhagen and to this union were born five children. One son, Gerhard, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of Creighton; one son, Rev. Arnold Hoferer of Clay Center; three daughters, Mrs. Ilda Berry of Omaha, Mrs. Irma Schlapkohl of Creighton and Mrs. Gerda Wells of Los Angeles, Calif.; two grandsons; one brother, Henry of Omaha and four sisters, Mrs. Helen Heck of Fond du Lac, Wis., Mrs. Ann Koch of Waverly, Ia., Mrs. Linda Dobson of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Margaret Dobson of Caldwell, Ida.
