Eggerss and wife, of Shelby, Iowa, C.F. Eggers, of Omaha, John Hinrichs and family, of Ganville, Nebr., John Hespen and family, of Deshler, and Ernest Linin and family of Ruskin. The young couple were remembered by a lot of nice presents, even the charivari crowd brought them a token of friendship. Mr. and Mrs. H. Eggers will go to housekeeping at once. THE BLADE extends congratulations. ============================= Hebron Journal Register (Hebron, NE), Wednesday, February 19, 1969 Herman Karl Eggers, son of Eberhard Eggers and Caroline (Eggerss) Eggers was born on July 19, 1883, in Shelby County, Iowa. His parents moved from Iowa to near Ruskin when he was a young child. On February 10, 1911, he was married to Emilie Greiner. Six children, 5 boys and 1 girl were born to this union. They lived near Ruskin until moving to near Byron, where they farmed and Herman operated a livery stable. On June 10, 1953, his wife passed away after 42 years of marriage. In recent years, Herman was in failing health and lived in the Good Samaritan Home in Nelson. On Febr. 6, 1969, he died at the age of 85 years, 6 months and 17 days. Preceding him in death were his wife, Emilie; 1 sister, Marie Hinrichs. Surviving him are 5 sons; Eberhard of Ruskin; Paul of Deshler; Walter of Ruskin; Max of Byron; Kenneth of Garden Grove, Calif; 1 daughter, Gertrude Mason of Lincoln; one sister, Mrs. William Sasse, Smith Center, Kas.; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Febr. 10, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Byron with Rev. P. W. Pilgrim officiating. Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.
