Description	:	Herrold Doyle "Babe" Jones, 69, of Toronto, passed away at his home early on Saturday, July 5, 2014. He was born on January 12, 1945, at his grandparent's house in Neal, Kansas, the son of Doyle Oscar and Olive Myrtle (Hamilton) Jones. He grew up at Neal, and graduated from Tonovay Rural High School in 1962. He worked with his father on the construction of the Keystone dam west of Tulsa, and then worked as a truck driver retiring his services for the Woodson County Road and Bridge Department. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard during... Read More	Herrold Doyle "Babe" Jones, 69, of Toronto, passed away at his home early on Saturday, July 5, 2014. He was born on January 12, 1945, at his grandparent's house in Neal, Kansas, the son of Doyle Oscar and Olive Myrtle (Hamilton) Jones. He grew up at Neal, and graduated from Tonovay Rural High School in 1962. He worked with his father on the construction of the Keystone dam west of Tulsa, and then worked as a truck driver retiring his services for the Woodson County Road and Bridge Department. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard during the Viet Nam era, serving from 1964 through 1970, and was honorably discharged with nearly 2 years of active service. He lived the rest of his life in the Toronto area, and was a member of Toronto American Legion Post #325. Babe loved his family, and enjoyed his Harley, horses and harassing the public (all in good fun). On December 31, 1994, he was married to Marilyn Dawes at Toronto, and she survives, of the home. He is also survived by six children, Melissa Miller of Burlingame, Cherie Engels and husband Mark of Derby, Shane Chandler and wife Kelly of Pretty Prairie, Carla Ogle and husband Clint of Felt, Oklahoma, Matthew Jones of Toronto, and Shayla Langley and husband Todd of McKinney, Texas; 17 grandchildren, 1 great-grandson, and by a brother, Marion Jones and wife Nancy of Topeka. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Shannan Hensley, and by a sister Charlene Montgomery. The family will hold a graveside memorial service and inurnment, with military honors by Toronto American Legion Post #325, at 10:00 AM, on Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Neal Cemetery. Memorials are to the Toronto American Legion Post #325.
