Description	:	Herschel G. Marget was born August 16, 1860, at Winnebago, Illinois, and died at 10:00 p.m., June 10, 1918, in the Bailey Sanitorium, Lincoln. Mr. Marget began taking treatment about three months ago, but there was a gradual failing of health until the last. November 21, 1888, at Seward, Illinois, he was united in marriage to Lillian Wells. There were born... Read More	Herschel G. Marget was born August 16, 1860, at Winnebago, Illinois, and died at 10:00 p.m., June 10, 1918, in the Bailey Sanitorium, Lincoln. Mr. Marget began taking treatment about three months ago, but there was a gradual failing of health until the last. November 21, 1888, at Seward, Illinois, he was united in marriage to Lillian Wells. In March, 1893, Mr. and Mrs. Marget came to Nebraska, and settled near Fairmont, where they have since resided. They moved to their present home, two miles west of town, fifteen years ago. There were born to this union five children, four sons and one daughter, one of the sons and the daughter, dying in early childhood. Those living are Ward H. and Lee Wells, born in Illinois and Chester M., born in Nebraska; all of whom are married and settled in life. Ward H., an electrician, is living in Harvard; Lee Wells and Chester M. are farmers living near Fairmont, Chester occupying the home place with his father. In 1894 Mr. Marget joined the M.W. of A., in which order he continued a member until the time of his death. As a boy, he was raised in the Presbyterian church. Mr. Marget was of a retiring disposition, but always held his friends in the highest esteem. In his death, the community has lost an honorable and useful citizen and a highly respected neighbor. April 11th, he went to Lincoln for treatment, his wife accompanying him, and since that date she has been by his side, except three days, when she was home on business. His trained nurse, Mr. Whitmore, who cared for him during his entire illness, accompanied the body and family home and remained until after the funeral. Of his relatives present at the funeral were: a sister, Mrs. David Sims and her husband, and his nephews Claude and M.C. Sims and wives, of Aurora, Nebraska; also Mrs. John Marble, a niece, of Hastings. He leaves a brother in Byron, Illinois, and a sister at Rosco, Illinois. The funeral was held Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. from the Methodist church, J.P. Yost, the pastor, officiating, and interment was made in the Fairmont cemetery.
