Triplett Died Tuesday in Henderson Funeral of Aged Henderson Woman Held There Thursday Afternoon Mrs. Simeon Triplett, one of the long time residents of Henderson and vicinity, passed away at her home in Henderson May 21 after a long illness. Funeral services were held in the Christian Church in Henderson Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Mr. Green of Oakland. A quartet, T.D. Phillips and Win Castor and Mrs. H.A. Triplett Died Tuesday in Henderson Funeral of Aged Henderson Woman Held There Thursday Afternoon Mrs. Simeon Triplett, one of the long time residents of Henderson and vicinity, passed away at her home in Henderson May 21 after a long illness. Funeral services were held in the Christian Church in Henderson Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Mr. Green of Oakland. A quartet, T.D. Phillips and Win Castor and Mrs. H.A. Paul and Mrs. George Wilson, with Mrs. Martin Christofferson as accompanist sang, "Lead Kindly Light," "In the Sweet By and By," and "Some Day,Some Time,We'll Understand." Mr. Sivers sang a solo, "In The Garden." Burial was made in the Farm Creek Cemetery by he side of her Husband who passed away in 1927. Masses of beautiful flowers testified to the loving remembrance of friends and relatives. Friends from distance attending the services were: Walter Triplett, Yuma,Colo., George Triplett, Fort Morgan, Colo., James Wilson and wife of Glenwood, V.L. Wilson and wife of Macedonia, Harold Danford, Glenwood, Jasper Danford, Emerson, Carl Stemple and wife, Macedonia, Mr. and Mrs. Reafling, Glenwood, Will Copper and wife, Silver City, J.Houser and wife, and Mrs. H. Train, Wheeler's Grove, Mr. and Mrs. I. Stouder, Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Potter, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Hansen, and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Schultz of Omaha. She is survived by seven children, Leonard W. Triplett and Mrs. Julia Danford of Henderson, George E. Triplett of Fort Morgan, Colo., Mrs. Addie M. Todd of Wessington, South Dakota, Walter J. Triplett of Yuma, Colo., Mrs. Mary A. Wilson of Macedonia, and Mrs. Minnie A. Wilson of Glenwood. She is also survived by twenty-nine grandchildren, sixty-four great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren, 103 direct descendants. The following obituary was read: In Loving Memory The subject of this brief sketch, a long time resident of Henderson and vicinity, called from earth scenes to the rest promised to the children of God. Hester Vincent was born near Brownville, Edmonson County, Kentucky, November 8,1843, and departed this life after a long illness at her home in Henderson Tuesday, May 21,1929, aged 85 years, six months, and fourteen days. She was united in marriage to Simeon Triplett on November 24,1866. This union was blessed with nine children, two of whom preceded the mother to the spirit world, Thomas E. Triplett and Mrs. Nancy James. The others survive her. In early life she was converted to Christ and united with the Baptist Church. She and her husband came to Iowa in 1868 and settled on a farm east of Henderson in Montgomery County where they resided until 1898 when they re-moved to Henderson. Her loving husband preceded her in death, having departed this life September 14,1927. While residing on the farm she identified herself with the Baptist Church. Services were held at a school house. On coming to Henderson she united with the Church of Christ under the ministry of F. Hey Lemon. She was a good woman, loved and revered for her many loving kindnesses. Her home was always open to the Ministers of the Gospel. The writer of these lines following an accident was taken to her home where he received every kindness she could bestow. We of today do not know the sacrifice and hardship attending the pioneer life. She shared with her husband uncpmplainingly the life of self-denial and sacrifice. She has now entered into peace and joy promised to the children of God. During her long illness she was tenderly cared for by her loved ones. She leaves to mourn her departure the loving children.
