Description	:	Hilda Gunnesdotter, the fifth of six children born to Gunne Nilsson and Gustafva Svensdotter, was born May 27, 1866 in Nora, Arhult, Sweden. Hilda and Sven Olaf Jones were married in Geneva, Kane County, Illinois on July 10,1888. After coming to Nebraska the young couple lived and worked on the Swenson Ranch at Sartoria. John Swenson was Hilda's uncle. They later bought the Jasper farm in Section 19 of Loup Township, Buffalo County. Read More	Hilda Gunnesdotter, the fifth of six children born to Gunne Nilsson and Gustafva Svensdotter, was born May 27, 1866 in Nora, Arhult, Sweden. Hilda and Sven Olaf Jones were married in Geneva, Kane County, Illinois on July 10,1888. After coming to Nebraska the young couple lived and worked on the Swenson Ranch at Sartoria. This skill has been passed down to many of her descendants. At an early age Hilda was confirmed in the Swedish Lutheran church and attended services here in local schoolhouses as well as the Pleasant Valley Church.. Hilda was the mother of thirteen children and is survived by: Herman Joseph of Berwyn, Elmer "Irish" of Amherst, Carter of Miller, Victor of Pleasanton, Ingeborg Carman of Litchfield, Hilda Pfeiffer of Amherst, Garfield Elof "Buck" of Litchfield, Morris "Gunne" of Pleasanton, Rufus "Deker" of Pleasanton, and Olga Bauer of Litchfield. She is also survived by her husband, Swen; brother August Gunst (Gunneson) of Pleasanton; and sister Augusta and brother Gustaf of Sweden; and 29 grandchildren and one great-grand child. Hilda was preceded in death by three children, Luther, John, and a stillborn infant. Hilda passed away at her home on March 7, 1934 surrounded by her family. Services were held at the Pleasant Valley Church at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Rev. Giles was in charge of the services with burial in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
