Description	:	Sven Elof Jonasson, the third of eleven children born to Jonas Anderson & Stina Magnisdotter, was born in Ulfsbeck, Markaryd, Sweden, June 6, l862. While in the military service in Sweden, he had taken the name of Sven Elof Strom. Sven left for the USA on April 20, 1888 settling in Aurora, Illinois. Sven and Hilda Gunnesdotter probably came to America at the same time. They were married at Geneva, Kane County, Illinois on July 10, 1888. Sven and Hilda Gunnesdotter probably came to America at the same time. They were married at Geneva, Kane County, Illinois on July 10, 1888. In the fall of 1888, Sven and Hilda Jones arrived at the Swenson Ranch in Sartoria, Buffalo County, Nebraska. At first they lived in an apartment above the store building where Herman and probably John and Elmer were born. They worked for John Swenson who was Hilda's uncle. In 1892 they bought 160 acres in Section 19 of Loup Township. They purchased another 160 acres in 1909. Swen and Hilda were farmers and producers of livestock. Swen raised very good hogs which he marketed in Omaha, sent there on the train out of Pleasanton. They were the parents of thirteen children. The children all attended the Prairie Belle school. Sven passed away shortly after Hilda on November 20, 1934. Services were held in the Pleasant Valley Church and he is buried in the Pleasant Valley cemetery. At the time of his death he was survived by 29 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, (June Pritchard). Sven was preceded in death by two sons, John and Luther.
