Read More	Obituary of Hilda Susanna Victoria Hermes Source: Arapahoe Public Mirror, June 18, 1992 Hilda Susanna Victoria Hermes nee Monter was born May 21, 1905 to Henry and Marie Monter in Gosper County, Arapahoe, NE. Hilda was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Arapahoe, NE. It was there that she met and later married Otto L. Hermes on April 22, 1928. The couple was struck with tragedy when their first daughter was stillborn. Later they were blessed with two healthy daughters, Edith Marie born August 9, 1934 and Shirley Rosalie, born March 7, 1936. The family for economic reasons moved to Minnesota and then quickly moved on to Fargo, ND. After four years, the family returned to Arapahoe where Otto started his own business. They remained there until Otto passed away May 31, 1974. Hilda then moved to Denver to be closer to her daughter. She resided at Alpine Manor in Denver, Co. for the past 15 years. Hilda passed away on June 10, 1992 at St. Anthony's North Hospital in Westminster, CO. Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, Otto; two grandchildren, Gary Lee Hawkins and Brian Loryn Hawkins; a sister Hertha Ziebell; and a brother, Reinhold Monter. Hilda is survived by two daughters, Edith Marie Pharr of Layton, UT, and Shirley Rosalie Hawkins of Denver, CO; five grandchildren, Dawn Marie Cunningham nee Pharr of Bremerton, WA, Ginger Gail Bell nee Hawkins of Portland, OR, Stephen Patrick Hawkins, Kevin Michael Hawkins and Kimberly Michelle Hawkins, all of Denver, CO; and one Great-grandchild, Heather Nicole Eurez of Cleveland, OH. Hilda is also survived by a sister, Leona Warner of Arapahoe, NE. A brother, Herb Monter of Arvada, CO; and several Nieces and nephews. Committal services were held in Arapahoe, NE, with Rev. Harlan Meier, officiating. Casketbearers were Don Hermes, Wayne Hilker, Don Ziebell, Dick Hermes, Larry Warner, Neal Monter. Honorary casketbearers were Lyman Warner, Laverne Hermes, Ralph Marquardt, Rodney Warner, Ron Monter and George Marquardt. Arrangements were made by Williamson Funeral Home.
