He entered the United States Army on February 25,... Read More	Homer Gordon Farver, the son of Allen and Effie (Cornish) Farver, was born on August 5, 1932 in Nelson, Nebraska. He passed away on September 27, 2011 at his home at the age of 79 years, 1 month, and 22 days. Gordon grew up on the farm and attended Blaine Rural School quitting after the 8th grade to help work on the farm. He was a member of the Nelson Community United Church of Christ. He entered the United States Army on February 25, 1953 and was honorably discharged on February 16, 1955 serving during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage to Darlene Swanstrom on March 10, 1955 in Nelson, Nebraska. To this union 3 children were born. Gordon farmed Northeast of Nelson; he also was employed as a lineman for 26 years for South Central Public Power, and worked for the Nuckolls County Road Department until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Basil and Clarence, 2 infant brothers, and one sister Evalyn Burke. Survivors include his wife, Darlene of Nelson, son Dr. Max Farver and wife Debra of Yankton, South Dakota and 2 daughters Peggy Bargen and husband Kent of Superior, Nebraska and Brenda Betts of Gretna, Nebraska; 8 grandchildren, Jason and Aaron Farver, Andrew, Adrian and Jessica Bargen and Ashley, Kelly and Sean Betts; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. Services at: Nelson Community United Church of Christ, Nelson, Nebraska with Full Military Rites concluding the service Time of Service: Friday, September 30, 2011 at 11:00 am Clergy: Rev.
