Willett and Rose Belle Breniman Willett, was born August 13, 1910, in Brooklyn, IA, and died Monday, July 3, 1989 in the Winslow House Care Center, Marion, IA. He was a resident of Marion, IA, and a former resident of Brooklyn and Ankeny, IA. Read More	Howard Charles Willett, son of C. E. Willett and Rose Belle Breniman Willett, was born August 13, 1910, in Brooklyn, IA, and died Monday, July 3, 1989 in the Winslow House Care Center, Marion, IA. He was a resident of Marion, IA, and a former resident of Brooklyn and Ankeny, IA. Mr. Willett received his education in the Brooklyn School graduating in 1928 and Iowa State University graduating in 1933. He was the County Extension Director and Farm Bureau in Pocahontas County in the mid-30s. One June 13, 1936 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Belle Howe in Rolfe, Iowa. They operated a dairy farm north of Ankeny until 1968. From 1968 to 1973 Mr. Willett worked on a research farm at Iowa State. They moved to Brooklyn in 1973 where they lived until in 1979 when they moved to Marion. Mr. Willett was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Marion, Iowa State Alumni association, Farm House Fraternity, and Kiwanis Club of Ankeny. Mr. Willett was very active in YMAC of Ames when he lived in that area and served on the North Polk School Board where he served as President. Mr. Willett is survived by his wife, Dorothy; three sons, Lynn W. Willett of Zanesville, Ohio, Max W. Willett of Cedar Rapids, and Lance O. Willett of Davenport; one daughter, Charman, Mrs. John Banks of Cedar Rapids; one sister, Mrs. Helen Hansen of Brooklyn; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Fred. Funeral services for Howard Willett were held at 2 PM, Wednesday in the Nevenhoven Funeral Home, Brooklyn, IA, with interment in Brooklyn Cemetery. Source: Nevenhoven Funeral Home records.
