Description	:	Franklin, NC - Howard Theodore Brendle, age 87, of Franklin, NC died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 in a Waynesville nursing home. A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Harley and Pearl Sanders Brendle. He was married for forty years to Elsie Curtis Brendle. He was a carpenter and worked at Nantahala Lumber Company for serveral years; he delivered milk for Nantahala Creamery and worked at Van Raalte. Read More	Franklin, NC - Howard Theodore Brendle, age 87, of Franklin, NC died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 in a Waynesville nursing home. A native of Macon County, he was the son of the late Harley and Pearl Sanders Brendle. He was married for forty years to Elsie Curtis Brendle. He was a carpenter and worked at Nantahala Lumber Company for serveral years; he delivered milk for Nantahala Creamery and worked at Van Raalte. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II and attended Watauga Baptist Church. In addition to his wife he is survived by four step-daughters, Betty Wiley of Stanley, NC, Gladys Scroggs of Charlotte, NC, Linda Delaney of Cornelia, GA and Cathy Pierce of Stanley, NC; one step-son, Jimmy Scroggs of Waterford, MI, a daughter-in-law, Judy Brendle, and two grandchildren, Avery and Alison Brendle. He was preceded in death by one son, Randall Garth Brendle and two sisters, Grace Ensley and Claire Guffey. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bryant-Grant Funeral Home with Rev. Roy Lowe and Rev. Wesley Price officiating. Burial will be in Watauga Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Garth Ensley, Brian Sellers, Todd Ensley, Jerry Guffey, Stacey Guffey, James Guffey and Brett Ensley. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm, Wednesday, Sept. 22nd at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Gideons International, PO Box 372, Franklin, NC 28744.
