Surviving are his wife, the former Minnie Young, and two daughters, Mrs. Dwain (Dorothy) Keller of California and Mrs. John (Shirley) Corman of Oak. Funeral arrangements are pending. ========================= The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, February 25, 1960; pg. 8 Hubert Leon Carman, eldest son of R.E. and Annabel Carman, was born April 4, 1898, in Riley, Kans., and passed away at his home in Nelson, Nebr., Febr. 18, 1960, at the age of 61 years and 10 months. As a very small lad he united with the Presbyterian Church at Hanover, Kans. He was united in marriage to Minnie Young on Sept. 27, 1926, at Mankato, Kans. To this union were born two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Keller of Torrance, Calif., and Mrs. Shirley Corman of Oak, Nebr. He was well known in the Nelson community, having been in business here for the past 35 years. Bert was happiest when he could be with his grandchildren and always looked forward to seeing them. Besides his wife and daughters, he is survived by two sons-in-law, seven grandchildren, two brothers, Donald of Longview, Wash., and Kenneth of Lincoln, Nebr., and one sister, Mrs. Mary Flagle of Mead, Nebr. Funeral services were held in the Klawitter Chapel Sunday, Febr. 21, 1960, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ewel Vaughan officiating. Burial was made in the Nelson cemetery (sic).
