Carman of Oak, Nebraska, became the bride of John W. Corman, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Farmer Corman, also of Oak. They were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Robert A. Corman of Oak. Both of these young people are graduates of Nelson High School - Mrs. Corman with the Class of 1947, and Mr. Corman with the Class of 1945. A wedding supper was held at the home of the groom, after the ceremony at which the immediate families were present. Mr. and Mrs. Corman will reside on a farm near Powell, Nebraska. ========================== The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, November 25, 1993 Shirley Ann Glasson, daughter of Hubert and Minnie (Young) Carman, was born in Nelson, Nebraska, March 24, 1929. She passed away Monday, November 15, 1993, at Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 64 years, 7 months and 22 days. She was raised in Nelson, attended Nelson Public School and graduated from Nelson High School in 1947. September 19, 1947, she was married to John Corman. This union was blessed with five children, Peggy, Scott, Cheryl, Carol and Dixie. Shirley was a member of the Nelson Community Church of Christ, Order of Eastern Star of Nelson and Oak and American Legion and V.F.W. Auxiliaries, both of Nelson. December 8, 1977, Shirley married Junior Glason (sic). She was a devoted grandmother and liked all children. Survivors include her husband Junior of Nelson; four daughters Peggy Lipker and her husband, Dennis of Superior, Nebraska, Cheryl Yarber and her husband, Dellis, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Carol Andreasen and her husband, Rick, of Superior, Nebraska, and Dixie Carr and her husband, Marvin, of Kearney, Nebraska; one son, Scott Corman and his wife, Jean, of Oak, Nebraska; one step-daughter, Linda Bodiford of Rincon, Georgia; one sister, Dorothy Keller and her husband Dwain of Coulterville, California; seven grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; three step-greatgrandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Friday, November 19, 1993, at 2 p.m. at Nelson Community United Church of Christ in Nelson, Nebraska, with Rev. Royce Buchtel officiating. Music was provided bu (sic) soloist, Ruth Watts, singing selections of "His Eye Is On The Sparrow" and "How Great Thou Art", with Dot Ferebee as organist. Casketbearers were Ivan Troudt, Dutch Flower, Wes Daway, Buck Flower, Les Jensen and Kelly Schleif. Burial was in the Nelson Cemetery. In charge of the arrangements was Klawitter-Price Funeral Home of Nelson, Nebraska.
