Description	:	Hugh Lester Williams, son of Isaac and Rebecca Williams, was born at Franklin September 7, 1883. He grew to manhood on a farm north of town and attended school in District No. 2 and later the Franklin Public Schools. He was fond of horses so any work connected teaming, farm or railroad was his favorite occupation. Mr. Williams was married to Ella Hayes April 11, 1917 and except for one year on the farm, their entire married life was in the present home. He had been in ill health for the past nine years and unable to do any work... Read More	Hugh Lester Williams, son of Isaac and Rebecca Williams, was born at Franklin September 7, 1883. He grew to manhood on a farm north of town and attended school in District No. 2 and later the Franklin Public Schools. He was fond of horses so any work connected teaming, farm or railroad was his favorite occupation. Mr. Williams was married to Ella Hayes April 11, 1917 and except for one year on the farm, their entire married life was in the present home. He had been in ill health for the past nine years and unable to do any work for the last three years. About two weeks ago, following a siege of the flu, he gradually grew weaker and passed away January 21, 1961. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, four sisters, Mary Davis, Almeda, Fay Johnson and Chloe Rise; and four brothers, Will, John,Edgar and Charles. He leaves to mourn his departure his devoted wife who cared for him through his illness; and two brothers, Frank of Forest Grove, Oregon, and Jim of Franklin. There are many nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Services were held Tuesday, January 24, 1961, at 2:00 p.m. in the Hutchins Funeral Home, with Rev. A. Clair King officiating. Mrs. Fred Kolb was the soloist accompanied by Mrs. Frank T. Yelken at the organ. Pallbearers were Chester Beck, Clarence Prusia, Harold Beach, Rex Boyce, Gordon Feis and George Folkers. Interment was in the Greenwood cemetery.
