Hugh Westfall Livengood Hugh Westfall Livengood, 76, of LaVale, Md., died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2000, in Sacred Heart Hospital. He was born in Lambert, Pa., Aug. 7, 1924, son of the late Dewey and Dora Mae Herring Livengood. He was an active member of the LaVale Baptist Church, serving as a deacon and a director of Brotherhood of the Men's Ministry. He retired after 35 years of service with CSX Railroad as the general manager of the Cumberland (Md.) Locomotive Shops. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, having served on the USS Pennsylvania battleship. He was a member of the VFW Post of Bruceton Mills, and served on the National Committee for Emp loyer support of the Guard and Reserves. He was a past master, diplomat, and member of the Ohr Masonic Lodge 131 AF&AM, and serving diplomat, and Retirement Club for the 32 Degree Scottish Rite Bodies of Freemasonry of the Valley of Cumberland. He was al so a member of the Ali Ghan Shrine Railroad Unit, served as chairman and as advisor council member of the Demolay, and was a member of the Order of Quetzalcoatl group. He was survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Frazee Livengood; a daughter, Connie S. Peyton, of Frederick, Md.; three sons, Gary W. Livengood, of Mount Airy, Md., Edward L. Livengood, of Cumberland, Md., and Bradley W. Livengood, of Hawthorn Woods, Il l.; three sisters, Irene Kisner, of Hazelton, Geraldine Fike, of Baltimore, and Faye Thomas, of Kingwood; a brother, Myron Livengood, of Bruceton Mills; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Blaine Livengood, and a sister, Maxine Bishoff. Services were at LaVale Baptist Church, at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, with Pastor Doug Strother officiating. Burial followed in Blooming Rose Cemetery, Friendsville, Md. Military honors were accorded at graveside by VFW Post of Bruceton Mills. Donations: Ali Ghan Shrine's Crippled Children's Transportation Fund, Box 1416, Cumberland, MD 21502.
