Hulda Amelia Haggstrom Dahlberg was born March 6, 1897 [sic] at Norbotten, Sweden. She came with her parents to the United States at the age of two months and she and her parents settled in the Fairdale community. Her parents were engaged in farming. In 1902 Hulda was united in marriage to Anders Gustaf Dahlberg. Their first home was a dugout, later a sod house and then they built a home of lumber. Hulda and her husband Gus were charter members of the Fairdale Methodist. She is one of the last charter members and last of the pioneers. Hulda lived in Fairdale until the death of her husband Anders (Gus) in 1941. Since then she has made her home with several of her children. She died at the Milder Manor in Lincoln at the age of 91 years. She is survived by her sons, Herman Dahlberg of Omaha, Clarence of Hollandale, Minnesota; daughters Elsa LaPage of Lincoln; Agnes Vlach and Hazel Johnson of El Cerritto, California; Anna Smith of Lark Spur, California; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren; one brother, Gus Haggstrom of Fort Lupton, Colorado; one sister, Mrs. Dagna Larson of California. A son, Gustaf Reuben died in infancy. ******* According to her father's obit, Hulda's mother, nee Fredericka Vickstrom, died in 1880, probably in Dannebrog.
