On December 28, 1868, she was married to Jonathan Lundy, near Bethany, Mo. To this union were born seven boys and five girls; four of whom are dead. The father passed away June 4, 1915. All the living children were present except Oscar, who is in a hospital at Topeka. She is survived by a brother, Richard Cochran, of Shatick [sic], Okla., and one sister, Mrs. J. M. Harrison, of Concordia. She was one of those splendid characters whom to know was to respect and love. She was a faithful friend, a devoted wife, and a loving mother. In early life, she gave her heart to God and united with the Christian church. She lived a life worthy of the respect and admiration of all with whom she came in contact. She will be held in loving remembrance by a host of friends, for her kind, gentle disposition, and her many good deeds. She will be sadly missed here, but she has gone to her reward, and the world is better because she has lived in it. She died October 26, 1916, at Concordia, Kansas. The funeral services were held at the Rice church, conducted by Rev. Laport, and the body was laid to rest in the Rice cemetery. The large crowd in attendance, the sad faces seen in the congregation, the reverent attitude of the young men of the neighborhood who acted as pallbearers, and the flowers that covered the casket were silent evidences of a regard that can not be expressed in words.
