Description	:	Ida C. Yarrington was born Aug. 16, 1868, in Hancock county, near Garner, Iowa. When eight years of age, she moved with her family to Harrison county, Iowa, where she lived until 1883 when the family moved to Lamoni. She was baptized into the RLDS church Oct. 7, 1878, by Elder W. W. Wood. On Oct. 12, 1898, she was married to Isaac A. Read More	Ida C. Yarrington was born Aug. 16, 1868, in Hancock county, near Garner, Iowa. When eight years of age, she moved with her family to Harrison county, Iowa, where she lived until 1883 when the family moved to Lamoni. She was baptized into the RLDS church Oct. 7, 1878, by Elder W. W. Wood. On Oct. 12, 1898, she was married to Isaac A. Monroe and was a devoted mother to his four little children; to their union were born five children. Mrs. Monroe leaves to honor her memory seven children: Zilpha Anderson of LaCrescent, Minn., Ada Newman of Powell, Wyo., Wayve Frye of Peoria, Ill., Edith Hinderks of Des Moines, Arthur of Kansas City, Kan., Lottie McGeorge of Spirit Lake, Iowa, and Don of Chariton, Iowa; one brother. A.J. Yarrington of Lamoni and many other relatives and friends. Those preceding her in death were her husband, Isaac A. Monroe, who died Nov. 24, 1935, and two sons, Carl and Loren. She had been bedfast since April 1932 following a severe stroke. Death was due to her advanced years and from the effects of a number of strokes. She passed away on the morning of Sept. 4, 1953, at the Decatur county hospital, at the age of 85 years and 18 days. Funeral services were conducted Sunday at 2 p. m. at the [R]LDS church by her pastor, Robert S. Farnham, assisted by Willard Moon. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery.
