Description	:	Marian was born September 25, 1911 in Carmel, Indiana to Bessie L. (Nichols) and William "Bill" M. Doakes. Her parents had lived in New Point, IN, but moved to Carmel before Marian was born. After Bill died the family moved from Carmel to live with Bessie's parents in Mitchell, SD. Then they moved back to Iowa where Marian attended country school near Schleswig, Iowa. Marian was married to August "Augie" C. Kluver November 17, 1932 at Elk Point, SD. He owned the bowling alley in Charter Oak, where they lived the rest of their lives. Augie died in 1975. There... Read More	Marian was born September 25, 1911 in Carmel, Indiana to Bessie L. (Nichols) and William "Bill" M. Doakes. Her parents had lived in New Point, IN, but moved to Carmel before Marian was born. After Bill died the family moved from Carmel to live with Bessie's parents in Mitchell, SD. Then they moved back to Iowa where Marian attended country school near Schleswig, Iowa. Marian was married to August "Augie" C. Kluver November 17, 1932 at Elk Point, SD. He owned the bowling alley in Charter Oak, where they lived the rest of their lives. Augie died in 1975. There were four children: Mary J. and Richard A. )born to Augie and Marian) and Edna "pooty" (born to Augie and his first wife Martha Baak, who had died) and Wilma (daughter of Martha Baak by her first husband, Peter Munster, who had died). Marian was a homemaker most of her years, but she was also a secretary at the John Deere Implement store, and then in the Charter Oak school system, and Secretary to the Board of Education for 21 years, retiring in 1977. She was a long-time member of St. John's Lutheran Church and its organizations. She was a local hospital volunteer, and was active in several Charter Oak community activities. Family played a very important role in Marian's life. Whether adults or children, everyone enjoyed going to her house to spend time, either for a week in the summer or just for a Sunday dinner. Her kindness, generosity, and love were unconditional, and because she believed that even though someone could not help growing old physically, that person did not have to become old metally made "Mee Mee" even more special. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Bernice M. Quandt and husband Elmer of Charter Oak, sister Gladys M. Smart and husband Eugene of Cold Water, OH, brother Raymond H. Reincke and his wife Selma of Cave Creek, AZ, daughter Wilma (and Wilma's husband Robert Huber), and sons-in-law Donald J. Jones of Charter Oak and Mary's husband David I. Christensen of Omaha and grandson Dennis Huber. Marian is survived by her children Edna Jones and Edna's longtime friend Willia,k Guffey of West Des Moines, IA, and son D. Keith Jones and his wife Jeanne K. of Cedar Falls, IA. And by Mary J. Christensen of Omaha, NE. and her children Lisa A. Christensen Cook and her husband Andrew J. of Omaha, and her children Matthew D., Christopher T. and Kira A., Lori J. Christensen Fillbach of Omaha and her children Carli J., Alee J., and Alyssa N.; and Craig D. Christensen of Omaha and his daughter Paige R. and by Richard "Dick" A. Kluver and his wife Christine of Harlan, IA and Dick's children by his first wife Barbara McCall; Kevin Kluver and his wife Michelle of Crystal Lake, IL and their children Ryan and Alex; and Chad Kluver and wife Valerie of Portsmouth, IA, and their children Katelyn, David and Matthew, Dick's wife Christine also has two children: Daniel Grabill of Harlan, IA, and Sarah and her husband Jason Strom, and their son Logan of Ankeny, IA. And by these great grandchildren; R. Dennis Huber's children Michael and wife Heather and their children Brianna, Reagan and Connor; and Susan Stastny and her daughters Amanda and her child Emma and Madison, all of Omaha. Patti J. (Huber) Weiss and husband Dennis D. of Omaha, and their children Molly Boyes and her children Katelyn and Kimberly; Zachary and wife Sabrina and child Cooper of Omaha; Dustin and his wife Tracy and their children Audrey and Ezekiel of Omaha; Ann and her husband Matthew Coumbe of Maple Grove, MN. Marian is also survived by her sisters Frances L. Wiegle of Charter Oak, and Ester F. Meseck of Denison, IA. Dorothy Fredricks of Denison, IA, and LeAnna J. Crowder and her husband Ed of Monument, CO; and many nieces and nephews. Marian died August 21, 2009 in Charter Oak. She was buried next to her husband Augie in Morgan Township Cemetery at Schleswig, Iowa, following services at St. John's Lutheran Church, Charter Oak.
