Downard, 86, resident of Fairfield for the last 38 years, at 505 South Fourth street, died Sunday at 7:50 a.m. in the Jefferson county hospital. Where she was taken Friday evening. She was the former Ingaba Morris, daughter of George H. and Matilda Elbert Morris, and was born November 12 1870 in the Stockport community. She was a member of a well known pioneer family. She was married at Hillsboro to Joseph J. (P.) Downard, November 11, 1897. They lived in Stockport until his retirement about 1923, when they moved to Fairfield. Mr. Downard was a farmer and later a mail carrier in Stockport. He died here on Dec. 29, 1951, Mrs. Downard was a longtime member of the Methodist church in Stockport. Surviving are one son Bruce Q. Downard of Stockton, Calif.; (/Des Moines?) and two daughters, Miss Joan Downard of Burbank, Calif.;(Los Angles?) and Mrs. Jay Snyder,(Twylah) 302 South Third street, Fairfield. There are five grand children and four great grandchildren, also one sister Mrs. Carrie Taylor of Stockport. And three brothers, Jay Morris and Talbott Morris, both of Stockport; and Delbert Morris, Burlington, Iowa. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, four sisters and three brothers. The body is at the Behner funeral home here. Services will be in the Stockport Methodist church Wednesday at 2 p.m. The rev. Carl Rayburn, pastor, will officiate. Burial will in Spencer cemetery. Newspaper 1957
