Read More	Margaret Downard Funeral was held on Tuesday morning from the Methodist Episcopal Church. Margaret Agatha, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph J. Downard, of Fairfield, Iowa, but former long-time residents of this city and community, passed away on Sunday morning at 9:10 o'clock, at the home of her parents in Fairfield, after an acute illness of about two months' duration. In fact, Margaret had been in an invalid more or less for the past ten years of her life, and her last illness started about two months ago with an attack of tonsillitis, which led to hemorrhages of the brain causing a blood clot from the effects of which she died. Up to about ten hours previous to her death she suffered terrible agony, but the end came peaceful. Margaret had many near and dear friends here, especially among the younger set, as well as numerous relatives and older friends. Her funeral, which was held in this city at the M.E. church in charge of the pastor, Rev. A. F. Jordan, was largely attended and the floral offerings were profuse in the extreme. Funeral Director Davidson was in charge of the remains and interment was had at Spencer cemetery, northeast of the city. Margaret Agatha Downard was born on February 10th, 1903, in the house now occupied by the Alexanders, and passed away at her home in Fairfield, Iowa, on Sunday morning, August 29th, 1920, at the age of 17 years, 6 months and 19 days. She was a delicate child and young lady, and the last seven years a constant suffer. Her last words almost were: "My happy hours here are over." She bid good bye to her parents and all and gradually her spirit took its flight to God who gave it. Margaret leaves in her immediate family her father, mother, two sisters, Mrs. J.C. Snider and Mary Josephine, and one brother, Bruce Quinlin, and a host of other relatives. Stockport News September 2, 1920 ------------------------------------------------- Stockport. Ia., Sept. 1. — Margaret Downard died at her home near Fairfleld Sunday, August 29. at 9:10 a m after an illness of six weeks. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Downard and had spent almost her entire life here, and was loved by all who knew her. The body was brought here Monday and the funeral was held from the M. E. church Tuesday at 11 o'clock. The services were in charge of Rev A. Jordan. The ball bearers were her cousins, the Misses Birdie Morris Vera Morris, Myra Fleming, Gladys Morris, Retta Morris and Lillie Morris. The deceased was seventeen years old and leaves her father and mother, one brother and twoo sisters to mourn her untimely death. The burial was in the Spencer cemetery.
