Description	:	Ira "Tip" Yaste was born in Jennings, Garrrett Co, MD on March 23 1913 the son of Catherine Yommer Yaste and John W.Yaste. Church records state that Ira Orval Yaste was baptized at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Bittinger on July 13, 1914. He was a high school graduate and a self-employed mechanic and School bus contractor 26 years for Garrett Co Board of Education. He was a member of the church choir.He was also a member of the Alleghany-Garrett Firemen's Association and Camp 68, Woodmen of the world, Bittinger. He was married twice. First on Dec 11, 1939,to Nellie Mae Orendorf, daughter of Susan Emma Opel Orendorf and Nelson Orendorf. His 3 children were Kathryn Louise Yaste, Richard Dean Yaste and Richard Wayne Yaste. He was preceded in death by his first wife Nellie Mae Orendorf Yaste in 1960. Tip's second marriage was at Bittinger on December 11, 1965, to Anna Leora Beitzel, oldest daughter of Roy and Edna Maust Beitzel. Tip and Leora continued to live at his home in Bittinger and attend Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Bittinger. Tip enjoyed travel, cooking, clocks and work with the Bittinger Volunteer Fire Dept. He was Chief of the Fire Dept and was named Fireman of the Year in 1980's. He received many awards and certificates from his service in the Bittinger Volunteer Fire Dept. Tip Yaste died April 18, 1987. He is buried in Bittinger Cemetery next to his first wife, Nellie. from The Beitzel Family written by Florence H. Abel, 1986
