Description	:	COLUMBUS — Irene Eschliman, 84, of Columbus, died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, at Golden LivingCenter in Columbus. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Columbus with Fr. Tim Forgét celebrating the Mass. Interment will be in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Krakow (rural Genoa). Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Friday with a 7 p.m. vigil service at Gass Haney Funeral Home in Columbus. Irene Eschliman was born July 2, 1930, in Nance County to John and Agnes (Persak) Boro. On Oct. 9, 1954, she was united in marriage to Everette C. Eschliman at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. They lived in Butler County for many years before moving to Duncan. Irene did secretarial work for E-Z (Eschliman-Zeller) Sand and Gravel. Irene found her love and passion in the workplace when she started doing housekeeping for 7-Knights Hotel, Rose Bud Motel and New World Inn and worked for Jackson Cleaners. Irene enjoyed taking care of her farm animals and garden. She had a special love for her flowers and enjoyed doing word find puzzles. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. Irene is survived by her daughter, Cathy Davis of Columbus; sons, Everette (Grace) Eschliman of Randolph, Daniel (Dorothy) Eschliman of Columbus and Alan (Tricia) Eschliman of Minden; son-in-law, Pat Deavers of Kansas City, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, John and Agnes Boro; husband, Everette C. Eschliman; daughter, Barbara Deavers; son-in-law, Gary Davis; and brother, Julian Boro. ----------------------------------------------------------- Grand daughter Bobby Jo Today will be grandma's funeral. She had somehow over the years became my best friend. Lots of talking, eating, shopping and visits. When you truly love someone you love them fully, which means unconditionally, you know, like God loves you. I would never say our relationship was perfect or that I did not make mistakes. We would not have guessed she would go through so many medical issues during the last several days of her journey here. The last 6 days of her life she knew I did not leave her alone. She communicated with me. A few mumbles, a squeeze of a hand, a wave of a hand, a sign of the cross, a shoulder shrug and even some forehead wrinkles. My faith drove me to stay close to her even though she was 2 hours away and it pushed me to speak for her/fight for her when I believed she was not quite ready to let go of her life here, even though she was in pain. Of course I wanted her to stay, but that was not why I spoke up for her. I spoke up cause as her best friend/the person who had spent the most time with her, I didn't believe she was ready to go on to the next part of her journey yet........ It is much easier to do what someone or everyone else is doing, especially when it comes to sensitive areas in life, but, at times, you have to do what you believe is right and it means you will stand alone. Each day it got tougher and tougher for her, so we did search a words, watched tv, listened to music, I held her hands a lot and got prayer cards from the priest, asked the nurse for a bible, put a rosary in her hand and we prayed more and more. I asked the nurses to tend to her when I thought she needed it. I left her side at 1:30 Tuesday morning knowing she would soon be moving on leaving her old crippled body behind for a new beginning. AMEN! .....I know she is at peace now and that gives me peace.... LOVE Bobby JO
