Mr. Beverage, who was born October 10, 1872, died on June eleventh after a short illness. He was the son of the late William A. and Virginia Trimble Beverage. His wife, who was the former Clara Hester Seybert, died in 1937. Read More	Highland Recorder June 17, 1949 ISAAC LUTHER BEVERAGE Funeral services for Isaac Luther Beverage were held from Monterey Methodist Church at two-thirty o’clock Monday afternoon, with interment in Monterey cemetery. Mr. Beverage, who was born October 10, 1872, died on June eleventh after a short illness. He was the son of the late William A. and Virginia Trimble Beverage. His wife, who was the former Clara Hester Seybert, died in 1937. The following children survive: Seybert Beverage, attorney, at home; Virginia Beverage, principal of Blue Grass High School, at home; James W. Beverage, engineer, Paris, Tennessee; Mrs. Ross E. Mohney, of the of Clark school, Charlottesville: W. Nicholas Beverage, engineer, Newport News; Dr. John H. Nashville, Tennessee; Lucinda H. Beverage, of the faculty f Monterey High School, at home; Mr. Albert J. Beverage, at home; and -Charles B. Beverage, engineer, Triangle. Also surviving Mr. Beverage are a brother. Byron A. Beverage, of Monterey, and Mrs. Bessie Mines of Fairfax. Mr. Beverage was educated in the public schools of Monterey. In life he taught in the public schools of Strait Creek, Blue Grass, Vanderpool, and Monterey. He early evidenced an interest in mathematics and engineering and in 1910 he was appointed county surveyor, a position he held until 1925, when he was appointed Clerk of the Circuit Court of Highland County to fill the unexpired term of W. H. Matheny. Subsequently he was elected to two terms in this office. During World War II he was chairman of the selective service board of Highland county. Mr. Beverage’s long service as a surveyor and public official gave him more than usual knowledge of local history. Mr. Beverage has always been interested in nature, and his vegetable and flower gardens have been his pride during recent years. The attack which preceded his death came while he worked in his garden, which he loved so much. Annually hundreds of visitors came to admire his garden. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. J.G. Long, Jr., pastor of Monterey Methodist Church.
