He departed this life April 30, 1938 aged 88 years 2 months and 20 days. He came with his parents to Hamilton Indiana when a small child, and for more than 80 years had lived in Steuben County. He was the son of Andrew and Priscilla Crago Sewell being one of a large family, of children. With his passing only two children remain, Mrs Bertha Jarrard of Angola, and Albert Sewell of Pleasant Lake. In 1887 he was united in marriage to Miss Ada Sharp of Hamilton, and for 51 years they have traveled life's pathway together. "Say not good-bye, but in some brighter clime bid me good morning." From Hamilton he moved to a farm in Scott Township and later to a farm just east of Angola where he has since resided until about a year ago when he moved into Angola. He had a retiring disposition, quiet and unassuming. Withal he leaves many friends. He was an honorable and upright citizen, filling the place in life God had planned for him. "So live that when thy summons comes to join the innumerable caravan that moves to that 'mysterious' realm, where each shall take his chamber in the silent halls of death. Then go not like a quarry slave at night, but sustained and soothed by an unfaltering trust, approach the grave like one who wraps the drapery of his couch about him and lies down to pleasant dreams."
