Wright, daughter of Elijah S. and Ida (Stone) Robuck, was born July 12, 1905, near Everest, Iowa in Marion County. She passed away from this life Feb. 2, 1998, at the Lucas County Health Center in Chariton after an extended illness. She was 92 years, 6 months and 21 days old. Isabel graduated from Bussey High School in 1923, and later attended and graduated from the Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. On April 19, 1930, she was united in marriage to Earl H. Wright. They made their home on the Frank Wright family farm. To this union, two sons were born. After her mother's death, Isabel opened her home to her younger sister, Pauline, and helped raise her. Isabel taught six years in the rural schools. After the death of her husband, she moved from the farm to Russell where she taught until her retirement. She was active in the Bethel EUB Church where she served as pianist and Sunday School teacher for many years. Isabel was active in the Retired Teachers Association, Russell Senior Citizens, Garden Club and the Faith United Methodist Church where she was the Saturday evening pianist until the time of her illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, two brothers and a granddaughter. Isabel is survived by her two sons, James and wife Judi of Russell, and Alvin and wife Charlene of Barneveld, Wisc.; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Pauline and husband George Morgan of Turlock, Calif., along with several nieces, nephews and a host of friends and neighbors. Isabel was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved to cook for her family. Her house was always open to anyone for Sunday dinner. Her philosophy was "there is always enough for one more." Her greatest enjoyment was playing Scrabble with the "Scrabble Girls", playing the piano and playing rummy. She also enjoyed working around the yard and tending her flowers. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, at the Fielding Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Prosser officiating. Burial was in the Bethel Cemetery. Bearers included Gene Wright, Jerry Wright, Jeffrey Wright, Ed Carmody, Herbert DeBok and Roger DeBok. Joe Batten, Bill Winsor, Paul Force, Bill Penney, Dan Allen and Lee Sandy served as honorary bearers. Memorials may be made in her name to the Organ Fund at the Faith United Methodist Church in Russell.
