Robuck, was born in Marion County, on Sept. 25, 1901, and passed away June 20, 1989, at Lucas County Health Center in Chariton. She was united in marriage on Aug. 26, 1922, to Herman A. DeBok. To this union six children were born: Lucille Susic of Ankeny, Jake DeBok of Russell, Ellen Hawkins of Russell, Roger DeBok of Chariton, Charles DeBok of Russell, and Gerry Fitzgerald of Turlock, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband. Bernice is survived by her six children, several in-laws, 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and two sisters; Isabel Wright of Russell, and Pauline Morgan of Turlock, Calif. She was a long-time member of the United Brethren Church in the Bethel Community, until she moved with her husband into Russell in 1967, where they became members of the Faith United Methodist Church. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, June 23, 1989, at Fielding Funeral Home, with Rev. Larry McAlpine officiating. Serving as pallbearers were grandsons: David DeBok, Paul Hawkins, Nick DeBok, Jeff Susic, Carl McKnight and great-grandson Jamie Kent. Memorials may be made to the Russell Community Center or Faith United Methodist Church in Russell.
