Received your letter and was glad to hear you was well ___ this finds us well here at the present thank God for his goodness to us all. It is a long time since I had a letter from Pittenweem. I had a letter from my brother John about a month ago he never spoke of any of you being in America. I have had very ____ hurt for anything since I lost my oldest son, Robert. He lost his life two years come Christmas. He was coming home from the Spanish river and the ice was bad. Him and another boy fell through the ice and was drowned. I have two boys and four girls. One married. You will not remember anything about us. Robert is away fishing just now. He will be home in a few days. We would all like to see you if this finds you well and let us know what you are doing there and what kind of a place it is. We are still living in the lighthouse and yet if you or Robert Peebles youngest son, John let me know your mother's name and your brothers and sister's names. The girls want your likeness. We would like to see yourself. No more at present but will remain your loving cousin, Isabella Boyter. Good night and God bless you.
