Description	:	Boone County Democrat October 17, 1912 Isador Weigel, one of the substantial farmers of Harrison township, died at his home south of Mackey on Sunday afternoon at 1:18 o’clock. The deceased had been in poor health for the past two years but for six weeks he was so weak that he was compelled to take to his bed. Read More	Boone County Democrat October 17, 1912 Isador Weigel, one of the substantial farmers of Harrison township, died at his home south of Mackey on Sunday afternoon at 1:18 o’clock. The deceased had been in poor health for the past two years but for six weeks he was so weak that he was compelled to take to his bed. The deceased was born in Germany on November 25, 1843 and was almost sixty nine years of age at the time of his death. The deceased leaves a wife and large family of children. The funeral was held on Wednesday morning at 10:00 o’clock from St. Peters and Paul’s church near Gilbert Station. Rev. Father Renier of Ames conducted the services and the remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery at that place. The deceased was a fine type of citizen and his death is deplored by the large circle of friends and acquaintances. Next week we will give an obituary of the deceased. ~~~~~~~~ Boone County Democrat October 24, 1912 The funeral of the late Isidor Weigel whose death was announced earlier was held Wednesday morning at 10:00 o’clock from St. Peter and Paul’s Catholic church near Gilbert. Interment took place in the Catholic cemetery. Requiem high mass celebrated by Rev. F.C. Renier, of Ames. Music was furnished by Mrs. Osmar Mann and Mrs. Joe Healy of Boone and Mrs. Martin Costello of Ames assisted by members of the St. Peters choir. The deceased was born in Silesia, Germany, November 25, 1843. He came to this country in 1869 and located in Livingston county Illinois. In 1883 he came with his family to Harrison township, Boone county, Iowa, where he has resided since with the exception of three years which he spent in Allen county, Kansas. Mr. Weigel was married twice. To these unions were born fifteen children, three of whom preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife and twelve children who were all present at the funeral excepting one son, who resides at Alberta, Canada.
