When about two and one-half years of age he moved with his parents to Mahaska county, Iowa, living there until he was twelve years of age, when they moved to Pilot Grove, Iowa county. When about two and one-half years of age he moved with his parents to Mahaska county, Iowa, living there until he was twelve years of age, when they moved to Pilot Grove, Iowa county. He married Miss Sarah A. Simpson on January 20, 1870, after which time they lived on the Myers Homestead, for thirty years. They then moved to Williamsburg, and later to Iowa City. Two years ago last January they celebrated their Golden Wedding. On March 22, 1922, after a week's illness he was claimed in death by influenza. He leaves to mourn, his widow together with two sons, Walter R. and Ray I. of Victor, and Rena E. (Mrs. Ed K. Twedt) of Miles City, Mont. There are also five grandchildren. Mr. Myers had been a devoted and highly respected member of the Methodist church many years. He was a kind, devoted husband and loving father and will be mourned by all who knew him. His funeral was held at his home Thursday, 2 p.m. conducted by his pastor, Rev. Ellis. Friday his remains were brought to Victor and laid to rest in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
