Description	:	Iva Fern Chaney was born at Stella, Neb., January 29, 1890. She passed away at the hospital at Henderson, Neb., September 12, 1966, at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 14 days. She spent her early life and received her education in the Stella community and was united in marriage to Alwyne Ernest Sole, November 1, 1917. These, with a stepson,... Read More	Iva Fern Chaney was born at Stella, Neb., January 29, 1890. She passed away at the hospital at Henderson, Neb., September 12, 1966, at the age of 76 years, 7 months and 14 days. She spent her early life and received her education in the Stella community and was united in marriage to Alwyne Ernest Sole, November 1, 1917. Mr. Sole was employed with the railway service, so they were located in various places for a number of years. To this union were born 11 children, five sons and six daughters. These, with a stepson, comprised the Sole family. In 1942 Mrs. Sole came to Grafton and became the telephone operator and, with the assistance of her daughter June, she continued in that capacity until her retirement several years ago. Grafton remained her home until her passing. She was a wonderful mother and truly a good neighbor and friend. She was an active member of the Women's Fellowship of the Congregational Church and was always ready to meet every need. Early in life she was affiliated with the Lutheran Church. She was a long and patient sufferer and expressed to the hospital chaplain and her former pastor her profound faith and anticipation of her future, where her spiritual body would be whole and there would be no more pain. She leaves five sons, Owen of Omaha, Ernest of Geneva, George of Vallejo, Cal., Richard of Waterloo, Ia., and Clair Daily of Lincoln; six daughters, Mrs. Curtis (Jennie) Griess of Sutton, Mrs. Robert (Jean) Moritz of Milford, Miss June Sole of Lincoln, Mrs. James (Bernice) Hochreiter of Grand Island; Mrs. Robert (Iva Fern) Bussard of Crete and Mrs. Dale (Allison) Patton of Vacaville, Cal.; also 32 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Maud Ross of Auburn, Mrs. R. L. Dvis of St. Louis, Mo., and Miss Laura Chaney of Mars, Pa. Her husband and one son preceded her in death. The memorial service was held from the Kohler Mortuary in Sutton, with Rev. Maude V. Mann officiating. Mrs. Don Kleinschmidt was the soloist, accompanied by Mrs. Roy Warren. Interment was in the Fairmont Cemetery.
