This week the reporter visited her to learn how she was and was very much surprised to find her about the house as well as ever and perfectly willing to tell the story in which she claims she was visited by God and healed of her blindness and her other afflictions. Her condition continued unchanged until Tuesday when she claims the Lord God made His appearance and that she saw him and he held out His hand to her and told her He would come the next day and heal her within an hour. Duly on time Wednesday morning she told her mother to leave her alone for an hour and then the visitor came again and took her by the hand as before. She took the Bible and opened it by hand to the eighth and ninth chapters of Matthew and instantly she could see and her afflictions were a thing of the past. She dressed herself unaided and came out to surprise her mother and since then has been surprising everyone with her radiant good health. The case has attracted all kinds of attention for the laity and she has been besieged with people from all the surrounding towns who want to hear her story and "see" for themselves if it is so. She went to Sunday school Sunday and took up the work she has been compelled to give up during her long illness and people crowded around her and shook her by the hand, ____ to believe their eyes that one of the Lord's personally chosen representatives was in their midst. Some were even afraid of her, because of the august and awful experience she had passed through. She says if the attacks come back she will not take any medicine of any doctor, but will rely upon prayer and hope for another visitation of the Almighty. The preachers in town and surrounding pulpits who have heard of the miracle preached about it Sunday, calling attention to the fact that it is time for us all to repent of our sins, now that the Great Presence is among us. To the Headlight reporter, Miss Iva in "relating" how the _______ came about had the following to say: About 9 o'clock Wednesday morning I asked for the Bible and made mamma get out and leave me alone for an hour. The Lord told me to be alone an hour. I was perfectly blind when she went out. I couldn't see anything. I didn't know what I was going to do with the Bible, but I opened the bible while I was yet blind, and I opened it at Matthew the eighth and ninth chapters. The very minute I opened the Bible I could see as good as I ever could. Read them – you will know what cured me. I was so sick that morning and felt worse than I ever did till I opened my Bible, then my pains all left and I felt perfectly well. Oh, I was so happy. I read those chapters over and over, and now I am well. I was in bed, too that morning, I hadn't sat up since Sunday. Everybody had given me up. I got out of bed, took my Bible after I had been there alone and walked into the kitchen by myself. It almost scared them all to death. Ruby, almost fainted. She screamed and mamma came running in. She was awful happy.
