Hempy was born May 31, 1916, in the White Oak neighborhood southeast of Lisbon to Ira and Grace Krumroy Hempy, and passed away in his home on Thursday, July 13, 1950 having passed his thirty~fourth birthday. He was married to miss Frances Ellenberger on June 11, 1941 in St. Paul's M. E. Church at Cedar Falls, Iowa, and to this union two daughters were born. Survivors are his wife Frances, two daughters, Ilene, 7, and Marilyn, 3 years of age. His devoted parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Hempy, who lived on the farm with him; one sister, Mrs. Merle Clifton and three nieces, near Mechanicsville. His Christian life and love for his family and a good neighbor, will be a precious memory to all who knew him. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
