Description	:	Iver H. Pollock, 79, of Akron, Iowa, died Monday (Aug. 17, 1987) at his home of an apparent gun shot wound. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 20, at Trinity Lutheran church, Akron. Rev. Marvin Mueller and Rev. Walter Beckman will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Akron, with military rites by Hoschler American Legion Post 186. Visitation was from 1:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m at the Schroeder funeral home. Iver Hugh Pollock was born February 26, 1908, in Union county, S.D., to Arden Rhea and Cora Deyette Knudson Pollock. At an early age he moved with his family to Sioux City, where he attended school. He married Minnie Sopia Beckman Feb. 6, 1929, at Sioux City. They moved to Akron in the mid 1930s. He served in the Marines during WWII and worked as a truck driver, retiring in 1962 due to ill health. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church and the Hoschler American Legion Post 186. Survivors include his wife, Minnie; a daughter, Mrs. James (Mary Lou) Mattke, Nevada, Ia.; three grandchildren, Ruth Janson, Rebecca Dillin, and Jean Mattke.
