Leonard Doyle died at his home in Sherman township, Tuesday, January 4, of typhoid pneumonia, having been sick only about three weeks. Deceased was born in Grant township Wisconsin, October 26, 1875, being at the time of death 34 years, 2 months and 9 days old. He came to this county in 1886 with his parents, where he has since resided. He was married June 22, 1903, to Miss Agnes Wolfe of Pocahontas, the wedding taking place in Gilmore City. One child was born, Leonard Carl, born April 9, 1905. Deceased leaves t o mourn with the wife and son his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Doyle of Pocahontas, and three brothers and one sister, Henry, Will and Nellie who still reside a the parental home, and Terry Doyle, Jr., who resides at Mountain Home, Idaho. the latter arrived here Wednesday afternoon to attend the funeral, which was held this Thursday forenoon in Sacred Heart church, the services being conducted by Rev. W. A. Pape. He had always been considered a strong, healthy young man by all his friends and his death came as a shock to the many who did not even know that he had been sick, as only about two weeks preceding death he had been seen in town, although at that time was not feeling well. Contributed by Teresa Davis∼Pocahontas Sun, January 6, 1910 On Tuesday the 4th of January, the tolling bells announced the passing away at his home in Sherman township of Leonard Doyle, the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Doyle of this place. Mr. Doyle had been ill about two weeks with a very severe and unusual form of typhoid. Doctors were in attendance with two trained nurses to care for him. His uncle, Dr. Doyle of Yanktown, South Dakota was sent for but death was the victor in the struggle for life. Mr. Doyle was a man just in the prime of life, being only thirty-four years old. He was married only a few years ago to Miss Agnes Wolfe, who is left with one child, a son, to mourn his loss. He leaves also his father and mother, one sister, Nellie and three brothers, Henry, Will and Terry, Jr. It is expected that the funeral services will be held Thursday at Sacred Heart church.
