Description	:	Funeral services for J. Roy Irwin were held Tuesday, October 11th at the Methodist church in Sac City. A prayer service was held for the immediate family at Farber and Otteman Funeral Home preceding the church service. Final rites were conducted by the Rev. Pruell. Organist was Mrs. Dean Marshall who also accompanied the soloist, George Glass. Attendants were Charles Davis, Harold Irwin, Don Irwin, Preston Hendrickson, Wayne Irwin and Dale Irwin. Roy Irwin, eldest son of Chas, and Sarah Irwin, was born on a farm in Clinton township July 25, 1887 and died at Loring hospital, Sac City Saturday evening, October 8th at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 13 days. Mr. Irwin grew to manhood on the family farm in Clinton township near Lake View. He attended the Odebolt high school and Sac City Institute as a young man. He was united in marriage May 28, 1910 to Edna Crozier of Evanston, Ill. To this union were born three children: Marjorie (Mrs. Wesley Seymour of Lake View, Mildred (Mrs. O.R. McMurry) of Ankeny and Richard LeRoyr, deceased. J.Roy farmed the land homesteaded by his father and resided on this place until he moved to Sac City in 1943. He was a member of the Methodist church, Masonic lodge, Eastern Star, Farm Bureau and was an active member of the Sac County Fair Board, but due to failing health the past few years, he had become less active in aommunity affairs. J.Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Edna, and son, Richard. Left to mourn his passing are his two daughters and sons-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Seymour, Mr and Mrs. O.R. McMurry; eight grandchildren: Eugene, Gloria, Lon, John, Bruce and Cynthia Seymour, Grank and Gary McMurry; one sister, Mrs. Edna Lorenzen of Seattle, Wash.; four brothers, George, Lew, Frank and Orla all of Sac City.
